BEST PHOTO ON TUMBLR, BLOGGING LIFE COMPLETE
nawhs
ok, heres my quick spiel. this video is kind of cool, but… i know that i’ve just been conditioned to think that holograms are cool, so i have to acknowledge that first to even get down to the facts. with that said, seeing tupac appear onstage via fucking HOLOGRAM fifteen years after death, amidst such a haunting musical score is inherently amazing. but ok.
now, that’s either a hologram of a tupac performance (with great clarity and a constant shot on tupac), or it’s a computer generated tupac with someone in a mo-cap suit miming what he believes tupac moves like. I believe it’s the latter… the computer generated tupac, because 1) tupac doesn’t move like that, and 2) it looks like a computer generated tupac.
holograms are cool and all, but now we’ve seen them and guess what? people already want and expect more. i guarantee you, they’re just waiting for the Biggie hologram, and then what? a hologram biggie and tupac reunion? i can see it now. record companies will no doubt start tailoring their artists’ performances to be shown later in holographic form. that, or they’ll pay some posers to mo-cap and CG-ify that shit. the implications are motherfucking tremendous.
let’s say some cunty musician is being a bitch and refuses to perform his/her scheduled tour date. FUCK EM. bring out the hologram version. and no, they’re not getting paid either. they didn’t even perform! and people won’t give a fuck because they’ll be seeing a performance, as well assome sickmotherfucking HOLOGRAMS. you know what? FUCK EM. kill em. say it was a drug overdose, they’ll believe that. then make sure to gather up your friends cuz it’s hologram time.
if you take away anything from this, it should be that tupac has accomplished more for himself dead, than he ever has alive… and that’s fucked up and creepy. think what you want about the video, but think on the further cultural desensitization of this concept and its inevitable, consequent dissemination throughout society.
let this man rest.
